This is the best place to visit either when you are in town, or when traveling from Guadalajara to Tepic, and vice versa. An art gallery, cultural center, and excellent, typically Mexican restaurant with many organic products and regional dishes. Not only the jocoque and fresh cheeses are all handmade, but also the delicious dark tortillas, and all kinds of Mexican delicatessen. If you ever come to Nayarit, La Casona is definitely the place to be!

It was a memorable experience! While traveling with my son and his partner he made the decision to pull in and get lunch. It was absolutely fantastic The service was great and the food is beyond this world! As we were departing we met a local group coming into the restaurant and they were so friendly and we had so much fun in just a few moments I wanted to turn around and have a second lunch just to meet and know more about these people. It's a wonderful place to visit and enjoy the food.

The finest meal I have eaten in Mexico. One of the finest lunches of my life. Excellent service. Wonderful location near the ruins. You drive on a back road between the ruins to the restaurant. The town and road seem safe and happy. I parked right in front of the restaurant and was able to sit and enjoy the most incredible view. I was also able to keep an eye on my car which was full of luggage and very safe. Once seated I asked the gentleman serving, what's the best thing on the menu? He responded with the carne asada. It was absolutely incredible. The three of us were very hungry and ordered the following items: Carne Asada Tostada with chicken Pasta with chicken and cream sauce Chili Relenos Everything was incredible and delicious. I don't know if I'll ever be able to enjoy carne asada at home again. The meat was perfectly seasoned. This restaurant is a must stop if you're visiting the zone archeological! I will stop here for dinner every time I travel highway 200. I can only imagine how good dinner would be. Also, the kitchen and dining area is large and beautiful! Also, they have clean bathrooms. I can't sing more praises for this place! Thank you guys so much for feeding us travelers! Must stop if you love history and food.
